Dear Sister,
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. You were created with purpose, on purpose, with a destiny. You were designed for greatness. Neither your past or your present determines your greatness. You are great because of the one who created you. God made you. He handpicked each part of your design. He breathed potential into you. He deposited gifts and talents into your very core. He looks at you and says, "You are good, very good."
YOU ARE UNIQUE. Comparison is a waste of time. There is only one you. Focusing on what others have is counterproductive to your destiny. You are the only one with your DNA. Your specific combination of passions can never be duplicated. The world needs you to be you. We need your ideas. We need your smile. We need your talents. We need you just the way you are, weaknesses included. Because where you are weak creates space for God to show up strong.
YOU CAN DO IT. That dream inside your heart and vision inside your head are priceless. Shut out the noise from all the naysayers. Ignore the people who try to feed you negativity. Surround yourself with a community that will speak life into you and support you along this journey. Yes, it is a journey. One day at a time. One step at a time. One moment at a time. One breath at a time. Sister, God gave you that dream because He can trust you with it. Now, go and do it.
THERE WILL BE DAYS YOU WILL STRUGGLE. The struggle is very real. But, it doesn't mean give up. On the days when you want to throw in the towel and quit, dig in harder. Keep your focus on your why. Why do you do what you do? Nine times out of ten, it's because it is about something bigger than you. Your decision not to give up benefits more than just you. You are on track to change your family, your legacy, your workplace, your community, your country, and the world. Yes, you can change the world.
DROP THE MIC. Sister, when condemnation, doubt, worry, fear, insecurity, or any other negative thought and emotion try to take centerstage of your life. Grab the microphone of your life and yell as loud as you can, "NOT TODAY! MY GOD IS BIGGER!" and then with a little sass, stomp your foot and drop the mic!
