Draw a Line in the Sand

boundaries Mar 08, 2022

Let's talk Boundaries! Yup! Those imaginary lines we know we need, but sometimes don't always implement. My goal today is to encourage you to take a look or maybe even a re-look at putting some boundaries in place in your life.

Why are boundaries important?

1) They improve productivity
2) They put you at less risk for burnout
3) They create more time for what matters most
4) They are a part of self care
5) They are VITAL if you desire to not just save money, but also make more money in your business
** How you spend your time is directly connected to the profits you earn in your business.
6) Boundaries can breathe life into your life and business

So, where do you start?

You start with knowing that boundaries are allowed. Many people have been so used to other people controlling their time that they have forgotten that they are allowed to set boundaries. Secondly, practice saying, "No," even if it's saying "No" to yourself. Going for that 2nd piece of dessert after dinner? Tell yourself No. Even if it doesn't matter if you have the cake or not, just say no for the practice of saying no.

What are some others things to implement as you establish boundaries?

1) Decide each day when you will start work and stop work (it can vary from day to day)
2) Pre-decide how you will use your time (use a schedule, use the do not disturb feature on your phone, change notification settings to reduce distractions)
3) Consider your goals and core values (these serve as a guide when making decisions on what to say yes or no to)
4) Evaluate often (Remember, productivity is a journey. Makes adjustments along the way)
