Faith That Amazes

faith Mar 22, 2020

In Luke chapter 7, we read about a Roman officer who's valuable servant was sick. The officer told Jesus that all He had to do was say the word and the servant would be healed. Jesus responded, in verse 9, "I tell you, I haven't seen faith like this in all of Israel!". It is clear that Jesus was amazed by this man's faith. This man knew that the words of Jesus had enough power to create change.

The challenge today is to have that same faith. Let the Lord be amazed by our faith. Let's settle in our hearts that the Word of God is powerful and will create change in our lives.

Hebrews 4:12 New Living Translation (NLT)
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

The Word of God is living and it is powerful. I want to encourage you today with three ways that we should expect the power of the Word of God to work in our lives.

1) The Word lights our way and guides us. In seasons of darkness, the Word of God illuminates the way we should go. Dig into the Word for supernatural wisdom and experience.

Psalm 119:105 (NLT)
105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

2) The Word heals. Whether the healing you need is physical, emotional, mental, relational, financial, spiritual, or a combination of these things, the power of the Word of God heals. We can send the Word to situations, other people, and even ourselves and expect change to happen.

Psalm 107:20 (NLT)
20 He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.

3) The Word of God saves our souls. Our soul is made up of our mind, our will, and our emotions. When we are in the middle of challenging situations and our souls are in danger of being unhealthy, the power of the Word of God saves our souls.

James 1:21 (NLT)
21 So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.

So how can we apply all of this in our lives today? Let me encourage you to let the Word of God CONTINUE to work in you. It can be easy to have faith in the power of the Word for one day or two days; but can we commit to a lifestyle of faith in the power of the Word of God? Let God's Word and it's power work in you continuously.

Guys, God is good! He is still on the throne. Let's rise up as believers and move forward BOLDLY, having faith in the power of the Word. Let's have faith that amazes.
