God is Doing It

Jan 09, 2022

Here we are, the 1st week of the new year in the books. This past week in the There's More devotional, we reminded ourselves that God makes things new. It's important to emphasize that He is the one doing it. In fact, He has already done it. He did it over 2,000 years ago when He sent Jesus. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus gave us access to everything God has done. Because of Jesus, we have access to true life. Because of Jesus, we are positioned to live a life that manifests God's goodness. Today, remember all the benefits that come with putting our faith in Jesus.

Psalm 103:2-5 (TPT) - "Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration. How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you’ve done for me? You kissed my heart with forgiveness, in spite of all I’ve done. You’ve healed me inside and out from every disease. You’ve rescued me from hell and saved my life. You’ve crowned me with love and mercy.

As we are meditating on the benefits of salvation and the truth that God makes all things new, we praise God for his constant work. God is always working. He is working in us and through us. As He is working in us, let's believe for God to revitalize our passion to go all in. As we fully go after the things of God, He fills us up and out of our overflow we pour out. We are to be the light of the world. As we shine our lights, we believe that praise will erupt. We yield ourselves as vessels.

Matthew 5:14-16 (TPT) - "Your lives light up the world. For how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that your commendable works will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.”

God truly does make things new. He is the ultimate creator. He makes something out of nothing. God does not let conditions around Him stop Him from creating. We see this in Genesis.

Genesis 1:1-3 (NLT) - "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light."

The earth was dark, yet there was the Spirit of God and God spoke. We see in Genesis 1:27 that we were created in God's image. This means that our words also have creative power. The Spirit of God lives in us, as believers. We just need to open up our mouths and speak.

The challenge today is to believe, speak, and create. What promises from God are you believing to manifest in your life? It's time to make things new. It's time to speak. Let me know, what are you making new today with your words?
