Letting Your Personality Shine Through In Your Writing

Apr 06, 2023

I absolutely LOVE to write. In fact, at the time I am writing this blog, I am working on two writing projects. I love to write because I love words and words are powerful. I believe that writing is a powerful tool that can help you express your thoughts, emotions, and ideas. There are also moments when God allows you to share and express His thoughts, emotions, and ideas. For me, writing isn't just about sharing information—it's also about sharing words in my unique voice that result into transformation.

You have a unique voice too. You want that unique voice to be heard in the words you write on the paper or type on the screen. It reveals your writing style and your personality. It makes your writing more interesting and engaging. When you let your personality shine through, you are more likely to grab the reader's attention and keep them interested. Your writing becomes more relatable and easier to connect with, which is especially important because at the end of the day want our writing to reach people.

On today's blog, I am going to unpack how letting your personality shine through your writing will help you build trust and credibility with your readers, stand out in the marketplace, connect with your readers on a deeper level, and be personally rewarding. I am also going to share a few tips with you on how share your personality when you write. Let's go!

Here are some tips on how to share your personality in your writing:

Tip #1 - Be authentic: The most important thing when it comes to sharing your personality in your writing is to be authentic. Write in a way that feels true to who you are. Don't try to imitate someone else's style or use language that doesn't come naturally to you. Your readers will be able to tell if you're not being genuine, and it will be harder for them to connect with your writing.

Tip #2 - Use personal stories: Personal stories are a great way to infuse your writing with your personality. By sharing stories from your own life, you can show your readers who you are and what you care about. Whether you're writing a blog post, a podcast episode, social media content, or a book, look for opportunities to incorporate personal stories that illustrate your point or add depth to your message.

Tip #3 - Use intentional language: Your choice of words can also share your personality. Use language that is vivid, descriptive, and full of personality. Avoid bland or generic words that don't add anything to your writing. Look for opportunities to make your writing more interesting and memorable.

Tip #4 - Write like you speak: One of the easiest ways to share your personality in your writing is to write like you speak. Imagine that you're having a conversation with your reader and write in a way that feels natural and conversational. This can help you avoid sounding too formal or and it can make your writing more approachable and relatable.

Tip #5 - Be passionate: Don't be afraid to show your passion in your writing. No matter the topic you are writing about, let your enthusiasm shine through in your words. Your readers will be more likely to engage with your writing if they can sense your passion and conviction.

I want you to think about how you show your personality the next time you go to write something. Remember, showing your personality in your writing is important. It makes your writing more interesting and engaging, helps to build trust and credibility with your readers, helps you stand out in a crowded marketplace, allows you to connect with your readers on a deeper level, and can be personally rewarding. Don't be afraid to let your personality shine through. Your readers will thank you for it.
