Make Today Count

kobe life peace Jan 29, 2020

I still don't really have the words to describe the shock and sadness I felt and still feel when I heard the news about the tragic accident that resulted in the death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter. Just typing out those words makes me feel numb. I am praying so hard for his wife and family.

I have so much respect for him, his talent, and for the legacy he left. When I thought about the legacy that he left, I was reminded that his legacy wasn't build in one day or because of one moment. His legacy was built because of the hard work and dedication on a DAILY basis. It was the countless hours when no one was watching that gave him the edge.

I am asking myself the hard questions today. What legacy do you want to leave? What are you doing behind the scenes when no one is watching? Are you willing to work even harder? How dedicated are you? I challenge you to ask yourself these same questions.

The phrase "making today count" should mean something to all of us. How are you using each day? Are you using it to fulfill God's plans and purposes for your life? Or are you wasting time being paralyzed by fear? Are you using your time to go after your dreams and goals? Or are you too worried about what other people may think? Are you taking time each day with the Lord to get his direction and wisdom for the day? Or are you living life by the seat of your pants? Are you giving 110% when no one is watching? Or are you only concerned about things that people can recognize you for doing?

While I am saddened by this tragic event, I am using it as fuel to kick my dreams into full gear! God has given me gifts and talents and I am to use them to reach people. So, that's what I am going to do even more! My hope is that when I leave this earth, my legacy will inspire people to keep living well, loving well, and leading well. The best part is... my legacy doesn't start when I die. It starts now. I'm ready! I'm making every day count! I will unapologetically live out my purpose.

Who's with me?
