P.R.A.Y. FIRST (POSTURE OF PRAISE)

As we enter the month of August, we step into a season of new beginnings. The number eight symbolizes fresh starts, and it serves as a reminder for us to embark on a journey toward a more effective prayer life. Prayer is an integral part of our being; it is what we were designed and created to do. So, let us embrace this opportunity to immerse ourselves in Scripture and deepen our connection with God through prayer.

Prayer is something I am incredibly passionate about. Every August, I dedicate myself to a prayer focus in my personal life, and I believe it is essential to extend this practice to our community. Together, let's explore the power of prayer over the next few weeks, starting with the foundation of a posture of praise.

When we think of prayer, we often focus on making requests or sharing our concerns with God. However, it is essential to begin by acknowledging God's magnificence and expressing our awe for Him. We find ourselves in a posture of standing in awe of God, recognizing His greatness, and reflecting on His incredible deeds.

Let us draw inspiration from Scripture as we pray with praise:

1. "Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?" (Exodus 15:11 ESV)

God, no one compares to You. You are majestic, holy, and awe-inspiring. Your deeds are glorious, and You perform wonders beyond our comprehension. We stand in awe of Your greatness.

2. "Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him." (Psalm 33:8 ESV)

We join with all of creation in reverential awe of You, our Lord. We hold the utmost respect for You, recognizing Your sovereignty over all.

Jesus, our perfect example, demonstrated reverence and respect toward our Heavenly Father. In His humanity, He offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears, showing His reverence and awe for God. Let us imitate Him in our approach to prayer.

3. "Therefore, let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire." (Hebrews 12:28-29 ESV)

Take this opportunity today to spend time telling God how amazing He is. Simply praise Him for His goodness and faithfulness. Let us never lose our sense of wonder for our incredible God.

Remember, prayer is not just about making requests; it is also about expressing our reverence and awe for God. Let us approach Him in a posture of praise, acknowledging His greatness and giving Him the honor He deserves.

As you embark on this prayer journey, I encourage you to subscribe to the podcast for future episodes. Share this message with your friends and invite them to join our prayer focus this month. Together, let us cultivate a lifestyle where prayer is our first resort, constant communication with our Heavenly Father.

May we never cease to be amazed by the wonder of our God.
