My God-Approved Yes

"Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant."

— Galatians 1:10 (NLT)

ree

There’s something sacred about a yes that only God approves. It doesn’t always come with validation from the people around you. It doesn’t always make sense. And it doesn’t always get claps, likes, or confirmation — but deep in your spirit, you know: God spoke, and you obeyed.

I used to wrestle with the idea that my yes wasn’t “enough” unless it was affirmed by others.

📖 Galatians 1:10 (NLT) - "Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant."

Sometimes your yes will cost you applause. It’ll cost comfort. It’ll cost clarity. But if it’s God-approved, it’s already full of purpose.

Here is what I've learned

1. God’s yes over your life doesn’t require a committee to confirm it.

You don't need 17 signs or 7 people to validate what God already made clear. Obedience is a private agreement with a public impact.

2. Peace follows obedience, not the other way around.

You won’t always feel ready. But when you step out in faith, God meets you with strength for the next step.

3. Saying yes to God may stretch you, but it always grows you.

Your yes becomes the soil where transformation, favor, and purpose begin to bloom.

Reflect & Journal:

  1. Proverbs 3:5–6 (NLT) - “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”

💭 Even when it doesn't make sense, God's guidance never fails. Trusting Him is your safest move.

  1. Isaiah 30:21 (NIV) - “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”

💭 God’s voice may be still and small, but it’s always faithful. Lean in and listen.

  1. Hebrews 11:8 (CSB) - “By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and set out for a place… even though he did not know where he was going.”

💭 You don’t need the full map—just the next step. Your yes is enough for God to work with.

🔄 Rhythm Shifts: Aligning Your Life with God's Yes

When you say yes to God, your rhythms must rise to match your revelation. Living in alignment with Heaven’s instruction requires intentional adjustments — not perfection, but posture.

Here are three rhythm shifts to help you walk out your God-approved yes with consistency and peace:

1. Build in Stillness Before Strategy

Instead of rushing into action, anchor your day in stillness. Before you do anything, be with God. Let His voice set the tone for your decisions.

💡 Start each morning with 5 minutes of stillness — no agenda, just a surrendered heart.

2. Practice the Pause Before You People-Please

When opportunities or requests come in, pause and ask: Does this align with what God already said? Let your yes remain pure by checking it against your calling — not your calendar or their comfort.

💡 Create a filter phrase like, “Let me pray on this,” to give yourself space before committing.

3. Declare What God Said Over What You See

Faith grows when we rehearse truth. Say out loud what God said, especially when doubt creeps in. Your declarations anchor your heart and help you stay steady when circumstances try to shake your yes.

💡 Write your God-approved yes on a sticky note or in your planner. Revisit it daily and declare it boldly.

Pray This Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for trusting me with this yes. Even when it’s hard, even when it’s costly — I want to follow you. Strip away the need for outside validation and anchor my heart in your approval alone. I choose to obey, even when I can’t see the full picture. Strengthen my spirit for the journey ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Journal Prompts:

  1. Where in my life am I waiting for approval before I move in obedience?

✍🏽 God is already cheering you on — move anyway.

  1. What past “yes” did God use to bless someone else’s life?

✍🏽 Your obedience plants seeds you don’t always get to see bloom.

  1. How can I build rhythms that support bold, quiet obedience this week?

✍🏽 Preparation builds confidence. Don’t just wait — prepare for what you said yes to.

Say this out loud today:

“God, if you said it, I’ll do it. My yes is yours — no matter who understands it.”

Here are my final thoughts:

Your yes might not look like anyone else’s, and that’s the beauty of it. God custom-designed your journey, and the path you’re walking was never meant to make sense to the crowd — just to the One who called you.

Don’t be afraid of the silence that follows your yes. Often, that’s where God starts moving the loudest. Obedience may not always come with clarity, but it always comes with covering.

Keep going. Your yes is powerful — and it’s producing more fruit than you know.
